Wonderful.  Field Music are one of my very favorite things of the last five years.  The music produced by the Brewis brothers collective is consistently wonderful.

LISTEN: Field Music - (I Keep Thinking About) A New Thing

We love progressive pop duo Field Music here at MOJO.

Sunderland’s Peter and David Brewis are set to release their fourth album, Plumb, on February 13, 2012. “Our lyrics and music shouldn’t simplify things: that’s an obligation I feel,” said David Brewis when MOJO joined the group in the studio earlier this year. “We don’t do black and white, the hysterical extremes which are common in pop music.”

New track, (I Keep Thinking About) A New Thing, can be heard above and downloaded for free from www.field-music.co.uk.

Love me some Field Music.  I need to pick up this issue.

If you’ve never seen Field Music live you are missing out on an exceptional treat.

(And I love the slight use of a phaser on the gtr…)

I wish I’d made it to the Palms to see Chavez at Matador 21.  I’m also missing out on the original GBV shows.  Here’s a great shot of Clay Tarver from this weekends show. (via Pitchfork)
I did get to see Field Music on Sunday night and they were amazing as usual.  It’s criminal they aren’t a much bigger band in the States but I’m thankful I can still sit side-stage and watch them work their magic.

Those clean chorused guitars just scream 1984 to my ears.  I love me some Brewis brothers music.
